A Proton-M rocket launched from Baikonur today, April 23rd 2012, at 22:18 UTC. The Proton-M carried the YahSat 1B satellite into orbit. The satellite will provide broadband to users and connectivity to military around the world.
The Proton-M first stage burned for 2 minutes before seprating, with the second stage burning for 3.5 minutes and the final Proton third stage burn lasting 4 minutes.
The total flight will last 9 hours and 12 minutes with 5 burns of the Breeze-M upperstage, The Satellite will be released 12.5 minutes after the final burn of the Upperstage.
