Saudi Arabia has announced a new heir to the throne.
Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz was appointed Crown Prince a day after his predecessor Prince Nayef was buried.
Salman served for nearly five decades as the governor of Riyadh, the Saudi capital which today houses more than five million people.
He is seen as a less reactionary figure than Nayef, but still tends towards political conservatism.
