Two French journalists have been released after being held hostage by Taliban fighters in Afghanistan for 18 months.
Stephane Taponier and Herve Ghesquiere along with three Afghan colleagues were kidnapped by insurgents in December 2009. They had been embedded with French troops in Afghanistan, but decided to go off on their own.
French officials deny that they paid a ransom for the men's release.
