STORY: Amitabh Bachchan represented Bollywood by carrying the Olympic torch in London on Thursday (July 26), the final day before the opening ceremony for the 2012 Games.
Bachchan, one of India's most popular actors, tweeted his more than three million fans on Wednesday (July 25) that he was going to take part in the torch relay. During his bout, fans crowded the route to cheer him on and snap pictures.
The Olympic torch relay is nearing the end of its 8,000-mile journey, ending with the lighting of the Olympic cauldron on Friday (July 27) evening in the presence of 60,000 spectators including Queen Elizabeth II, U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama and a host of celebrities and dignitaries.
