Veteran designer Pallavi Jaikishan left the fashion fraternity stunned when she showcased her creation at the Lakme Fashion Week for the first time in her career spanning four decades.
Ecstatic about her debut at the fashion extravaganza, Pallavi said timing could not have been better for her than this event.
"I wanted to celebrate this milestone by doing something new. And this (Lakme Fashion Week) seemed like the ideal platform," she said.
Known for couture as well as bridal wear, Pallavi showcased her traditional collection comprising 'Sajala' - Clouds with a golden lining, 'Mandara' - The mythical tree, 'Elavia' - A thing of beauty and grace and 'Ayiana' - The eternal bloom.
Her collection essentially had sarees and lehenga in shades of golden, green, rose pink, bright red and vermilion that can be worn on different occasions.
Live music added to the mood when the models walked down the ramp.
"I am very happy to present my collection for the first time here (Lakme Fashion Week). There are a lot of pure fabrics like silk and chiffon with pearl embroidery, zari work. There are pastel colours and flower motifs with silver work," the designer said.
Actress Neha Dhupia, who came to cheer up Pallavi, was all praises for the designer. "There were so many different themes which were really beautiful. The collection had class, style and luxury....It was simply wonderful," she gushed.
