An official from Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party has told Al Jazeera the Nobel Peace laureate has been offered a senior position in the Myanmar government.

It's one year since the democracy campaigner was released from house arrest and she's now being courted by some of the same politicians who ordered her detained.
