Kim Jong-un was named North Korea's "supreme leader" as tens of thousands turned out for a second day of memorial services for his father, Kim Jong-il, .

A three-minute silence was also observed by the thousands of people gathered in Pyongyang's main square.

It was the last day of the official mourning period after Kim Jong-il's death.
