The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, visited a mosque on Friday (September 14) in Malaysia just as topless photos of the duchess were published by a French magazine. The royal couple, on a tour of southeast Asia, visited the mosque in the capital Kuala Lumpur. A source said the reaction by the Duke and Duchess to the images was "anger and disbelief", although the couple, who have had a busy day of events in Kuala Lumpur, had not seen the actual photographs.

Actress Kathy Bates announced that she had undergone a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer, nine years after a bout with ovarian cancer.

The 64 year old Oscar-winning star of 1990 thriller "Misery," told People magazine that doctors had given her a good prognosis following the recent surgery. Bates only went public in 2009 about her battle against ovarian cancer in 2003, saying that at the time she preferred to keep it quiet for personal reasons.

Lady Gaga launched her new perfume 'Fame' at a massive gala and film debut. The pop star unveiled a 5.5 minute long film at the Guggenheim museum and put herself on display getting a tattoo in front of the crowd. The event, which was more performance art than promotional, ended with Gaga showing off her new ink, an angel located on the back of her head.
