Europe's largest street carnival attracted tens of thousands of people to London's Notting Hill on Monday despite cold and rainy weather. Scantily clad dancers joined the throngs taking part in the colorful parades down west London streets on the second and final day of the annual parade. "I look forward to it every year," "Yeah we wait the whole year just for carnival," "But like this weather's not very nice," Over 500,000 people were expected to take part in the celebrations over the two day party. Police said they had 7,000 officers on patrol to ensure the carnival stayed peaceful. Police said nearly 100 people had been arrested on Sunday, and local media reported a man was in critical condition after being stabbed in the early hours Monday morning. The Notting Hill Carnival begun as a small party in the late 1950s, but is now one of the most prominent multi-cultural events in the British capital.
