Three days after Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee announced she would pull out from the Government, 6 TMC ministers are expected to submit their resignations to the Prime Minister today (Sep 21). The TMC Chief also rubbished any possibility of backchannel talks with the UPA. The TMC Chief has also sought time with the President to give him a formal letter withdrawing support from the UPA.
TMC, the second largest constituent of UPA with 19 MPs, on Sep 18 decided to withdraw support to the government and pull out its ministers opposing the government's decision to hike diesel price, cap on supply of subsidised LPG cylinders and FDI in multi-brand retail.
