An Iranian cleric has claimed that he was beaten by a woman for warning her to cover up.

He was walking to the mosque for noon prayers when he came across the woman in the street.

According to the clergyman, he asked her to cover up, to which the woman replied, “'you, cover your eyes”.

After repeating his warning, the woman advanced on him and pushed him down to the ground. He notes - “I fell on my back on the floor. I don’t know what happened after that, all I could feel was the kicks of this woman who was insulting me and attacking me.

Many Muslim countries require women to cover their hair and neck when appearing in public and law enforcement often patrols in order to implement the dress codes.
Although the cleric spent 3 days in the hospital due to his injuries, he has indicated that this will not stop him from “commanding right and forbidding wrong” and continuing to tell women to cover up if necessary.
