Taking bath time pictures of our children is a pastime that has been ongoing since the invention of cameras.

However, one mother was under scrutiny after showing off a photo of her little one. Danu Sefton took a picture of her 7-year-old daughter, Madeleine fully clothed and in the bathtub. It sounds simple enough, but the photo is certainly atypical.

After brandishing the photo at an art class, she was met with mixed opinions. One of them reported it to police. Officers knocked on Sefton’s door and asked to see various pictures but immediately classified them as artistic, eliminating the possibility of child abuse.

One 19-year-old Florida mom, however, certainly crossed the line - in 2010, she was arrested after posting a picture of her baby holding a bong. The child tested negative for drugs and had no injuries, but the mother was busted for possessing drug paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, Sefton says she originally took the picture in an effort to capture the state between life and death and her daughter understands that it was just pretending.
