A unique basketball franchise is giving entertainment a new meaning.
The organization, consisting of women clad in two-piece bathing suits launched in 2011 and is simply called ‘Bikini Basketball’. Although no actual games have taken place yet, seven teams have been established in six cities. The ladies of the Hollywood Hotties, New York Knockouts, Atlanta Fleet Angels, Chicago Desire, Miami Spice, Orlando LadyCats and Los Angeles Ice are just waiting to officially hit the court.
The season is slated to begin in the summer of 2013. A representative for the Miami Spice team spoke about their tryouts stating, "They can expect to sweat their hair out and have their basketball skills tested. Looking good in a bikini is a must.”
Scantily clad women are making their way into the hockey world as well. An organization has already been established. The website boasts “With hundreds of initial prospect entries and media attention from across the world, you can't deny that the Bikini Hockey League is a sport the world is ready to see!”
