At least 40 people were detained in Athens after approximately 600 protestors clashed with police on Sunday as they tried to approach the US embassy in protest against anti-Islam film and Mohammed mocking cartoons. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd after being pelted with plastic bottles and other objects.
