An online poll to elect members of an opposition council in Russia has been extended until Monday night.

It comes after claims that the system was targeted by hackers during the early stages of voting.

Former World chess champion Garry Kasparov is among the candidates. He says the response has been impressive.

"It's an incredible achievement," Kasparov told reporters.
