Comedy fans were treated to an evening of laughter and celebration as some of Hollywood's top comedians came together to honor the iconic actor and comedy legend, Eddie Murphy, during a Spike TV event in Beverly Hills on Saturday (November 3).

Longtime friend and "Coming to America" co-star Arsenio Hall recalls the first time he met Murphy:

SOUNDBITE Arsenio Hall saying (English):

"We've been friends for a long, long time. I met him a few blocks from here, in a club called The Improv, and he was practicing, so he could go on The Tonight Show, the next night. And he went on The Tonight Show the night after and killed. And you always knew you killed because you could hear Johnny (Carson) behind you laughing. And I remember that."

This exclusive Spike TV event marks 30 years since the release of Murphy's groundbreaking stand-up concert film "Delirious," and the classic buddy-cop movie "48 Hrs."

Scheduled presenters for the night were SNL's Tracy Morgan, Martin Lawrence and Hall, in addition to actors Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Foxx.

"Eddie Murphy: One Night Only" was taped live and is slated to air on November 14 on Spike TV.
