Hello and welcome to Incredible Smiles, a cosmetic dentistry in Boulder. Dr. Lori Ann Kemmet is a boulder dentist, and a founder and owner of Incredible Smiles.

She says,

"Many times when we are doing a consultation in my office, many people don't understand the difference between a crown or a cap, and a veneer. The difference between a crown and a veneer is the amount of natural tooth structure we can save.

The following explains between a crown VS veneer.

I love saving natural tooth structure, and that's when I love doing a veneer. A veneer is just an artificial covering over your tooth front. With a veneer we are able to leave the remaining back tooth structure of your tooth. So really it's an artificial front and leaving the natural tooth structure on the back.

A crown goes like a cap all the way down to the gum tissue over the tooth. The downside to getting a crown done is that we are not leaving as much natural tooth structure as we do with a veneer. A veneer is much more conservative and any time we can do a veneer instead it is better.

So that's the difference between a veneer and a crown, and to discover more about a crown VS a veneer, visit our website listed at the top of this description. Or to schedule your complimentary consultation call (303) 499-0013."
