Kilamba is one of the largest housing projects on the continent. Some 20 kilometres from the capital Luanda, it’s been there since June 2011 and includes 750 eight storey apartment blocks, 12 schools and a hundred shops – in both its style and size, it’s reminiscent of European housing projects from the 1960s.
