Number 5 - Earlier this year, a Humboldt penguin also known as number 337, managed to escape from its 13 feet high enclosure in the Tokyo Sea Life Park. The fugitive penguin was on a run for nearly two months before the keepers of the park captured it.

Number 4 - A Siberian tiger escaped its enclosure in Cologne zoo through a gate that was not closed properly. The animal then went to a nearby storage building where it fatally attacked a 43-year-old female zookeeper. The director of the zoo managed to shoot and kill the tiger before it could get into the visitor area and harm others.

Number 3 - A 20-inch venomous Egyptian cobra went missing from Bronx zoo for a few days. Finally, the snake was found almost a hundred feet away from its indoor enclosure in the Reptile House of the zoo. Interestingly, the beddings of mice and rodents were used as bait to capture the snake.

Number 2 - A 1,300-pound heck cattle bull escaped from its enclosure in Edinburgh Zoo and roamed freely for almost 40 minutes. The zoo officials and veterinarian staff successfully tranquilized the animal and took him back to his enclosure. Fortunately, no one was injured.
