Police ASI Ravinder Pal Singh has been shot dead by leader affiliated to the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Amritsar. The ASI had reportedly objected to the harassment of his young daughter by the accused Ranbir Singh Rana. Rana allegedly shot him in a fit of rage. Rana was later arrested by the Punjab police.
