John McAfee, founder of the anti-virus software of the same name, seems to have ended his flight from Belizean authorities who wish to question him concerning the murder of his former neighbor. According to Bloomberg news McAfee is being expelled from Guatemala for illegally entering the country. The millionaire Silicon Valley entrepreneur told Bloomberg Television’s “Money Moves” that he will be boarding a flight to Miami and is QUOTE “perfectly happy with the decision”.
McAfee made his escape to Guatemala from his home on the Belizean island of Ambergis Caye shortly after the death of his neighbor Gregory Faull. He said he feared for his safety in the hands of Belize authorities and that he was seeking asylum in Guatemala. He chronicled his three-week escapade from Belize to Guatemala via cryptic twitter and blog posts, creating a media spectacle.
However, Investigators in Belize have said that he is not a suspect in the murder case.
Raphael Martinez, a spokesman for the national Belize police department, told the Mercury News it is unlikely the US will send someone to Belize merely for questioning.
