A Japanese tourist was arrested in the resort island of Bali for having less than one gram of marijuana.

Police say the 35 year old was arrested in a nightclub for having .72 grams of marijuana leaves and seeds in his possession.

Police say the arrest was part of a sting operation covering entertainment and amusement facilities.

The penalty for drug possession of five grams or less of marijuana is four to 12 years in prison.
