A childcare facility temporarily shuts down due to an influx of snakes.

Recently a childcare facility was forced to shut down after nearly two dozen snakes were found in a nest behind one of the facility’s walls.

Mitchell St Childcare Centre in Darwin, Northern Territory Australia placed a sign in their front door, stating that the building would be closed due to an “inundation” of snakes. The director of the facility claimed that wildlife rangers had found a 2.5 meter carpet python, along with 23 babies and an additional 41 egg shells since they began searching.

Apparently the child care establishment had problems in previous years with snakes making nests behind walls. The snakes were all said to be non-venomous.

In another recent report involving snakes and kids, three-year-old, Kyle Cumming from north Queensland found snake eggs in his backyard and decided to keep them in his closet. They soon hatched and the slithery creatures turned out to be Eastern brown snakes, known as one of the most venomous snakes on Earth.

The family released them to a wildlife sanctuary. Kyle was very fortunate to have not gotten bitten.
