How To Select The Perfect Memory Foam Neck Pillow
Memory foam neck pillow comes in many varying densities, sizes and shapes. The whole process can seem daunting unless you have some sort of guideline to follow.
A couple of the sites I've checked out say something like "women should choose a small to medium and men should get a medium to large". Can you select the right memory foam neck pillow simply by your sex...no.
I don't think anyone would recommend a memory foam mattress just by asking your sex, would they?
Generally speaking, if you seek out a chart for memory foam neck pillows, they give you suggestions based on your height only.
While that is a good start, you need to also consider the following:
• Do you sleep on your side, back, stomach or a combination of all three?
• Do you prefer a small, medium or large pillow now?
• What kind of pillow are you used to sleeping on?
• Is it firm, medium or soft?
• Do you suffer from neck pain?
Knowing the answer to these questions will help you in selecting the right memory foam neck pillow, or may suggest that you would prefer a different memory foam neck pillow altogether.
Memory foam neck pillow is the "S" shaped pillows like you see on TV, in magazines, newspapers, billboards and on the internet a lot these days.
The following chart should be helpful. Remember to consider the way you sleep and then modify the charts answer to account for differences.
For example, if you sleep on your stomach, a memory foam neck pillow might not work at all. You might want to check out a memory foam neck pillow that's shaped like the standard pillows we all grew up using.
If you're set on a memory foam neck pillow, the best bet would be to choose a size that's at least one step smaller than the chart recommends for your height and build.
Some of the memory foam neck pillows I recommend are the TempurPedic® which is the best known on the market. The only thing about them is that many people think they're too hard.
The pillows I prefer are made of less dense foam and a softer feel.
They are the ones made by Comfor-Pedic™ and are user friendly to a broader range of people.
