Covering her face from the media, Briton Lindsay Sandiford faces her sentencing on drug charges.
An Indonesian court on Tuesday condemned her to death for smuggling more than 2.5 million U.S. dollars worth of cocaine.
The 56-year-old was found guilty of hiding 4.8 kg of the drug in her suitcase lining on a flight from Thailand to Bali in May.
Her lawyer said they will likely appeal the penalty.
(SOUNDBITE) (Bahasa Indonesia) SANDIFORD'S LAWYER ESRA KARO KARO SAYING:
"So far we did not expect the death penalty for her. Judges do not see anything that can alleviate the defendant. We will discuss with our client if we should appeal or not. But I believe our client will appeal."
Indonesia has some of the strictest drug trafficking laws in the world, with many foreigners languishing in jail on the resort island of Bali.
