Abrams may direct "Star Wars," Tina Turner to become Swiss national

"Star Wars" is getting a new lease on life with director J.J. Abrams at the helm - that's what multiple Hollywood trades are reporting. The next installment of the franchise will be "Episode 7" and is due out in 2015. Last year, Disney bought "Star Wars" maker Lucasfilm for 4.06 billion dollars. Abrams' next film will be "Star Trek: Into Darkness," set to hit theaters in May.

Tina Turner has taken the first steps toward giving up her U.S. passport and becoming a citizen of Switzerland. The 73-year old singer has been living in a suburb of Zurich since the mid-1990s. Her spokesperson said Turner enjoys the privacy she receives in Switzerland and has no plans to live elsewhere.

A never before seen press photo of an apparently teenaged Princess Diana sold at auction in the United States for more than 18,000 dollars. The picture, which a London tabloid deemed too hot to publish, is a black-and-white image and shows Diana from the early 80s, lying in the lap of an unidentified man. The picture was bought by an unnamed investor from California.

Finally, Whitney Houston's mother, Cissy Houston, has granted an interview to Oprah Winfrey. In the interview, Houston recounts the day she learned of Whitney's death, who drowned accidentally in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub last February. It's set to air on cable channel OWN on Monday (January 28).
