Union Minister Vayalar Ravi on Thursday (February 14) apologised for his sexist remarks. "I am sorry for the comment. I have already conveyed my regret for the remark to the TV channel in which the journalist works," Ravi said. Ravi was caught on camera making a personal swipe and openly intimidating a female reporter who wanted his reaction on Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien's alleged involvement in the 1996 Suryanelli gangrape case. In the video, Ravi is seen asking the reporter if she has had a personal problem with Kurien. Women journalists in Kerala have expressed outrage over the incident and staged protests.
