Tough times means many in Europe are finding it increasingly harder to make ends meet. But taxpayers are unlikely to be given much reprieve, especially when their governments are tackling record debts. And with no one willing to ditch generously funded public services, the EU looks set to continue having one of the highest tax rates in the world.
