ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Italian designer Giorgio Armani drew inspiration from oriental Kajal pastel hues and 20s looks for his refined Emporio Armani collection at the Milan 2013/14 Autumn/Winter womenswear fashion week on Sunday (Feb 24).
The designer worked cream, pink and dark shades for his light-toned coats and dresses in neoprene, the stiff material that Armani transformed into lightweight fabric for his elegant sculpted women.
A new romanticism was highlighted by the rounded shapes of coats and pleated trousers long at the ankle, like in watercolor paintings.
Armani also paired large sweaters in gauzed mohair sweaters with bermuda shorts, in a game of contrasts for a woman that chooses her wardrobe without an imperative rule.
Among his shows, the designer proposed lace-up men's shoes with neoprene details and flat moccasins. Bowler hats were all over the catwalk, often paired with large earrings and necklaces.
