People from Daveyton township east of Johannesburg protested against police brutality following the death of a taxi driver tied to the back of a van by South African police officers.

South Africa's Minister of Police has launched an investigation after amateur footage emerged showing the Mido Macia's treatment. The taxi driver, originally from Mozambique, later died in police custody.
