Maria Shriver and her son break into the pizza industry.
Maria Shriver is going from the former first lady for the state of California to pizza entrepreneur.
Shriver and her son, Patrick Schwarzenegger are investing in Blaze Pizza, a US based restaurant chain which allows diners to make their own pies.
Several other big names are putting cash into the business. TV and film producer, John Davis along with Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner have also invested in Blaze Pizza.
The company was started by the founders of Wetzel's Pretzels.
Two of the pizza joints opened last year in California. The 11-inch makeshift pies cost a little under $7 each and amazingly, they only take two minutes to fully cook thanks to high heat ovens.
The owners want to branch out and open more locations in America. That’s where the celebrities come in. Maria Shriver states “We love pizza. My son and I are really excited to be in the pizza business.”
Hulk Hogan is another well known face who has jumped on the dining bandwagon. Called 'Hogan's Beach', his establishment opened on New Year's Eve.
The 20,000 square foot restaurant is located at the Best Western Bay Harbor hotel in Tampa. The space can accommodate 360 people.
