An emotional day for relatives and friends of victims of the Aurora movie theater shooting.

Prosecutors say they are seeking the death penalty against James Holmes, the alleged gunman.

Bryan Beard's friend Alex was one of the 12 people killed last July during a midnight showing of the latest Batman movie.

SOUNDBITE: Bryan Beard, friend of Aurora shooting victim Alex Sullivan saying:

"The only way that death will receive justice, when somebody murders somebody else, is death. I guess you fight fire with fire. It sounds awful, but I'm tired of being so politically correct. You know, if somebody takes and eye, you can't just be like - slap on the wrist. You can't."

Last week, prosecutors rejected an offer from Holmes' legal team in which he would plead guilty and serve a life sentence if the death sentence was taken off the table.
