Tom Hanks continued his long time collaboration with Nora Ephron by making his Broadway debut in "Lucky Guy" in New York.

The veteran actor's night was filled with emotion as he starred in the production written by the late Ephron, who died of complications from leukemia last year at the age of 71.

After curtain call, Hanks talked about the thrill of being on Broadway.

SOUNDBITE: Tom Hanks, actor, saying (English):

"It's a blast, you know? Is that allowed, can I say that? It's more fun than fun should be. It's hard work, you know you don't take that lightly. And it requires a certain amount of stamina."

Based on a true story, "Lucky Guy" dramatizes the rise and fall of a former New York tabloid columnist as he covers the police scandals of a polarized, crime-ridden 1980s New York.

"Lucky Guy" will run for a limited engagement.
