Ivory Coast will go to the polls in a closely watched vote to elect local leaders on Sunday.
The country's presidential elections in 2010 was overshadowed by subsequent violence in which 3,000 people were killed.
Those elections were being monitored by a 10,000-strong UN peacekeepers force, but Sunday's elections will be managed by Ivorian security only.
Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Abidjan.
