It was Monday April 22, around 6:30 MST, at the time this video was made. Two of the three young eaglets had already perished in a devastating snow storm on April 15 and 16. On this particular day and through the night yet another storm threatens this family with temps around 25 degrees and 3 to 6 inches of snow in the forecast. The lone survivor here is just starting to get its legs. It stands for a long time while practicing its poop shoots, does some wing exercises and is being fed. All the while a snow storm is lurking in the background that worries me a lot. This may be the last one this little one has to endure. If it makes it through the night, I feel confident it will grow up to be a mighty eagle. I'm holding my breath and crossing my fingers. A prayer may be in order before I go to bed tonight. Not just for the young eaglet, but also that I will get some sleep.
If you want to peek into the nest, the cameras are always live 24/7. Here's the link. http://www.farmyou.com/falcon_cams/eagle.html
