South African Archbishop and peace campaigner Desmond Tutu is in a Cape Town hospital being treated for a persistent infection.

A statement released by his charity, the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, says Tutu will receive non-surgical treatment for about five days.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner previously suffered prostate cancer.
