Grand Theft Auto V’s protagonists to be exposed, Nintendo makes surprising announcement regarding E3 2013, and PlayStation 4 exclusive halted due to studio shutdown, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. With the last Grand Theft Auto V trailer released more than five months ago, anticipation for more video footage for the upcoming release has been building and thankfully Rockstar Games has announced when we will see more. Confirmed for Tuesday, April 30th, Rockstar Games will release a trio of trailers highlighting the three protagonists, Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. Highlighting each and every one of their personalities, skill sets, and posse of friends, actual gameplay is highly doubtable, but if you ask me, as of right now, I am more interested in finding more out about the three protagonists anyway. With that said, as soon as I get my hands on the trailers, you know I will have my coverage ready to deliver here on Nick’s Gaming View.
With Nintendo’s Wii U off to a rough start to say the least, it’s clear a revision over at Nintendo is needed if they want their latest console to become a success. With E3 2013 being the premiere event for video games, you would think Nintendo would be ramping up for a killer conference to earn their consumers back, but Nintendo has confirmed that this is not the case. Announcing they will not host their annual press conference at E3 this year as they have for nearly two decade, Nintendo has confirmed they will be hosting a few smaller events specifically focused on the software lineup for the U.S. market. For the Japanese market, Nintendo will host their regular Nintendo Direct keynote to ensure news reaches a large audience despite lacking a large conference. Is this a smart decision for Nintendo? If marketed correctly, it could prove to be an intelligent decision, but considering the poor marketing of the Wii U, I have a reason to have my doubts.
Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, according to the LinkedIn profile of former senior game designer at the closed down Zipper Interactive studio, Jason Schoonover, before being shut down earlier this year, Zipper Interactive was working on an unannounced new IP for the PlayStation 4 that was a first-person shooter. Due to the shutdown of Zipper Interactive, the development has come to a halt, with questions arising as to whether the game will ever see the light of day. With the poor delivery and performance of their last first-person shooter, MAG, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the game canned, but only time will tell.
