An armless driver is fighting a ticket for not wearing his seatbelt.
Fighting traffic tickets can sometimes be a hassle. Nevertheless, one man in Saskatoon, Canada is vowing not to back down. Steven Simonar is flat out refusing to pay a ticket amounting to $175 for not wearing his seatbelt.
The determined man also wants an apology from law enforcement. Steven’s situation is complicated. He drives alone and seemingly maintains a normal life but he has no arms.
After a recent police spot check, an officer pointed out that Steven was not wearing his seatbelt and issued him a ticket.
According to Steven, the sergeant said “Well if he can’t put his seatbelt on maybe he shouldn’t be driving.” 55-year-old Steven learned to steer with his left foot and the use of a special wheel and stirrup after he lost his arms in an accident nearly 30 years ago.
