Check out the avid collector of 'Do Not Disturb' signs.

We all have unique ways of remembering our travels.

How about those 'do not disturb' hotel signs?

They may serve a simple purpose, but can also offer insights into the history of art and design and even add a chuckle to your day.

Plus, they make pretty great inexpensive souvenirs.

Just ask door hanger collector Edoardo Flores, whose stash of thousands was started by the simple act of grabbing one as a memento.

Since his first acquisition in 1991, he’s become obsessive about securing, trading, and displaying the signs in his e-museum. In fact, when he’s ended up at hotels that don’t have the hangers, he has overwhelming desires to move to another.

His favorites from his 8000-piece library are the ones from Asia that are handcrafted and feature local art and traditions. He also has a fondness for vintage American designs because of their creative and humorous graphics.

Flores is always on the lookout for older pieces that would reveal more about the history of the signage.
