A 12-week-old puppy survived being trapped inside a locked car for nearly a month with little to eat and almost no water.

Kia, a terrier-schnauzer mix, was locked in a Chevy Suburban abandoned on a highway ramp in Kansas City. No one noticed the dog when the car was towed and left on the city tow lot for a month. The puppy managed to survive on trash left in the car and almost no water. The car's owner came to the lot, but couldn't reclaim the vehicle due to a lack of funds. No dog was ever mentioned. Kia was very thin, but is expected to recover.
