Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - I have been unable to pay on my credit cards for about 6 months. Will they take my tax refund.? - Hi. Please don't leave me nasty messages; I am just struggling like everyone else. My spouse lost his job last summer and I was able to keep up everything on my own for awhile by working tons of overtime but I can't get the hours anymore. So, I was forced to stop paying on them. I am due to get some tax money back (my spouse and I filed jointly and it will go directly into our joint account. The debt is only in my name not his). I had intended to use some of that money, roughly 1,000 to pay for bankruptcy. I should have another 4,000 left which I was going to use to get caught up on bills, pay a few months of rent and get everyone some clothes (something we have not been able to do). I am due to get the check in a week. I have recieved no notice of a lawsuit or garnishment or anything like that. Do they have to warn me before they can take it? I am so scared. We really need that money or we are going to have no place to live and no car for me to get to work. Our plan was for us to both go back to school so that we could use student loans to provide income to get us through while securing our financial future with learning a new trade. Please help!!! -
