I recently had my car repossessed but it is not reported as of yet. I think I have 5 days to get it out of repossession. My total debts is less than $10,000; not including the car debt (which reads in good standing now until 30 days are up then it will report on my credit as repo.) and school loans (in good standing). The secret clearance is with the Department of Navy which is less strict about financial obs. than Department of Treasury and Department of Homeland Security. I want to know if I will be able to obtain Secret clearance? I have had several public trust investigations. I have also had a MBI done which returned favorable as long as I kept my debts paid at the time. I lost that job with MBI clearance and have not maintain keeping my bills paid. I have tried to but it has been difficult to find a job and keep it. Now that I am working with a contractor supporting the Navy department...I plan to get back on my feet and take care of these debts by either debt consolidation like I have done before or file for bankruptcy. Can someone tell me if I tell them the truth about my situation and show that I am trying to resolve these issue that I will get the secret clearance? -
