February 6 is the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) or female circumcision. Across the world, an estimated 140 million women are said to be affected by such mutilations and a further three million girls continue to be at risk each year. We report from Kenya, where the practice is illegal, but remains key to the culture of many communities.
