Jennifer Lee Wolfe, a St. Petersburg, Florida woman was killed when her car plunged into a pond after being ran off the road early on March 10.
Her grieving husband James Wolfe has spoken of the frantic phone call he received from his wife in the final moments before she was overcome by water rushing into her van.
Just after midnight on Sunday the 35-year-old was heading home from Walmart when, according to Mr Wolfe's account of the call, another driver cut her off, narrowly causing a collision and sending her car careening into a retaining pond.
Mr Wolfe says he heard his wife scream followed by the sound of water just before the brief call ended suddenly.
"She begged me to come find her, she said nobody stopped and nobody saw what happened," Wolfe told local NBC affiliate, WFLA.
After an extensive police search involving helicopters located Wolfe's blue van roughly two hours later in a retaining pond. Police divers pulled the doomed woman from the water, but it was too late for paramedics to save her life; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police do not have a description of the other vehicle.
