Outcry on the streets of Bangkok over the military coup in Thailand.

Hundreds are out on the streets demanding a vote.

This comes amid reports that the military rulers have detained former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Under tight security, government ministers held a meeting with the military.

Later, vans believed to carry the ministers were seen driving out of the compound.

The military has also censored the media and imposed a nationwide curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The armed forces have a long history of intervening in politics in Thailand.

There have been 18 previous successful or attempted coups in the country since it became a constitutional monarchy in 1932.
