It's been a devoted life well spent
just ask a Husband, a Son
a Granddaughter or Parents;
years that all my time was theirs.
Those days of youth made me stronger;
I worked hard, prayed even longer
gave it my all, did the best I knew,
isn't that what most women do?
Now a Son grown has moved away,
a Granddaughter's in college these days
even Parents are in a better place;
and it's my turn to have a bit of space.
Chores and housework are left to wait
while I read and write and paint and create;
while I explore the beauty in other worlds
before my own boat sails and it's too late.
