To take…to hold the sweetest thing
That life can devour, keep, and bring
The hollow shape of a sinking well
Makes more thought and wonder to tell
The wind, the air, the clouds, and all season
That which is impalpable to the naked eye
Breath, sheer heaving of freedom to reason
So how beautiful is this hour to awake or sigh
To take…to hold this sobbing child
No voice is as mere and touching as mild
Those little cherub smile and all innocence
Simply there, and cooing with essence
Like a misty of a rain, but as silence as snowdropp
Within the secret meadows of heavenly crop
That when one eats or plucks, it gives life
In this place, and that place without strife
