Herod wanted respect
He wanted to be esteemed
He alone would rule the empire
He would be the only King

How could someone else come
to claim the honored throne
Herod was born to rule
and He would do it alone

Who was this Baby
that the wisemen went to see
why did they bring gifts to Him
and worship at his feet?

Herod would stop this king
and kill all children under two
nothing would stop his power
and he'd see to it too.

But God was with Mary and Joseph
during that horrible time
he'd lead them where they were to go
the Babe would be just fine

After King Herod's death
and from Israel to Galilee
the Babe would live in Nazareth
'He will be called a Nazarene'

Nothing coud stop the plans of God
so no matter what it seems
only God knows the plan of men
just read the prophecies

The Bible tells us of God's great love
and his hatred for wicked sin
it also tells us God's remedy
to bring us unto Him

God would send JESUS for us
and to all who believed
they would have a brand new start
Salvation would set them free

No longer to be ruled by
this world's wicked system
but by a Holy King
all who believed in JESUS
would now worship the King!

Jesus is the Saviour
Born to save us from our sins
He came to give His love to us
He came not to condemn

Sin is the enemy
Satan and his ploys
but you don't have to
listen to the devil
or his boys

You can get on the Lord's side
it's found in Roman's 10: 9

' For if you confess with your mouth
that Jesus is Lord and believe in
your heart that God raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved'

God has made a way for us through Christ Jesus
