Pensive Phoenix - Disguised

So weary and forsaken
How I weep for you.
Wishing, to embrace you forever
And hold your burdened load.
To see you so puzzled
A mask that haunts your face
Only smiles do I recall,
You already began to fall.
A shredder ate my heart that day
Mercy closed its eyes.
I could not grasp your hands
For you would not know at all.
Those eyes had lost their youth that day,
No light from the unforgiving decay.
The Bible sits on the shelf
How do I forgive him now?
Tears of fears cloud their faces
She will be okay, they say
But I do not believe them.
