Everyday, cops across the world put their own lives on the line to protect citizens. Traffic officers in West Midlands, UK bravely risked their safety to stop a motorist who was traveling the wrong way towards oncoming traffic along the M6 Toll.
The cops had been alerted of the driver and were waiting in a patrol car to confront him. They saw the vehicle barreling towards them, but instead of stopping, the elderly male driver continued moving.
The officers estimated his speed and quickly came to the conclusion he wasn’t going to slow down. They moved just enough to avoid a head on collision, but still stayed within the line of danger so the Honda would hit them and be forced onto the median strip.
One of the officers in the patrol car sustained minor injuries. The 77-year-old driver reportedly has dementia. After the crash, he was looked over by paramedics and taken back to his relatives.
